Antonio Simoes*, B.Sc., LL.B., (* denotes Law Corporation) is a Senior Lawyer at the Deer Lake Law Group. He earned a Science Degree (B.Sc.) with a specialization in Psychology in 1990 and Law Degree (LL.B.) in 1995 at the University of Alberta.
During his years in Family Law practice, Antonio witnessed first-hand the damaging effects of prolonged litigation, and the toll that such conflict took on families, their assets and their children. He is dedicated to bringing a more straightforward approach to family law and the restructuring of families.
Throughout the divorce process, negotiation, mediation and the Courts are very powerful tools which he uses skillfully to resolve the difficult issues of asset division, spousal and child support and parenting time.
Antonio's practice is focused on Family Law, and general civil matters. In addition to English, Antonio is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.

Andrew E. Rebane, LL.B., is a Senior Lawyer at the Deer Lake Law Group. He earned his Law Degree from the University of British Columbia, and become a member of the Law Society of British Columbia in 1993. Andrew has been retained as corporate counsel for companies in the hospitality, restaurant, construction, and high tech industries, and has prepared security for financial institutions in commercial lending situations. He also has acted for several financial institutions in collections matters involving both secured and unsecured debts.
In 2002, Andrew had the honour of being elected by his peers to the Provincial Council, the governing body, of the Canadian Bar Association, British Columbia Branch.
Andrew's practice focuses on Family Law, Estate Planning, Estate Disputes, Probate, Commercial and Civil Disputes, including Collections.

Lisa Sirlin, B.A., LL.B., is a Family Lawyer and Family Mediator at the Deer Lake Law Group. She earned a Law Degree (LL.B) from the University of British Columbia in 1993 and is a member of Family Mediation Canada (F.M.C.).
Her compassion, empathy and desire to help people brought her to the field of family mediation. Lisa devotes herself to helping families and individuals achieve their goals, whenever possible, through mutually acceptable agreement and mediation. But when necessary, Lisa is ready to advocate for her clients in the Provincial Court of British Columbia or Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Lisa aims to reduce the cost and stress of dealing with any legal issue, and particularly saving children from the negative consequences of family separation and divorce.

Kate Lee, B.Sc., J.D., is a Junior Associate at the Deer Lake Law Group. She studied Life Science at the University of British Columbia and received her Law Degree - Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa.
Kate's active listening skills and ability to connect with others enables her to stay alert to the core of all concerns and issues raised by clients. She is eager to assist her clients until an appropriate solution is achieved for each situation.
Kate's areas of practice include Family Law, Estate Planning and Immigration.
In addition to English, Kate is fluent in Korean and Japanese. She works closely with her clients to ensure that no one experiences a language barrier when addressing their legal matters.

Mosope Fagbongbe, LL.B, LL.M, Ph.D., is an Associate Lawyer at the Deer Lake Law Group. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M) from Lagos, Nigeria. Mosope obtained a second Master of Laws from the University of Manitoba and Doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia.
Mosope was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1997, where she started her career as junior legal counsel with a corporate law firm in Lagos. She moved to legal research and teaching, specializing in Constitutional, Criminal and Human Right Law.
Mosope was a Sessional Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia before successfully receiving a Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.
She completed her articling year at a national law firm, and at the law department of a major oil and gas company in Calgary, Alberta. She was called to the Alberta Bar in July 2016, and joined the Law Society of British Columbia in 2017.
Mosope’s current practice is focused on Business Law, Immigration, Labour and Human Rights Law. Her priority is achieve her clients' objectives in an efficient and thoughtful manner.

Lana Shparberg, B.Ed., is the Client Services Manager at the Deer Lake Law Group. She earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Calgary. She is trained and experienced in Family Law client support, and general administrative client matters.
Her background as an educator makes Lana particularly sensitive to the needs of clients dealing with the breakdown of a relationship. She has a strong ability to connect with, and assist clients through any difficult transitionsal period, such as divorce, personal injury, loss of employment or loss of a loved one.
As a former marketing and business consultant, she is a natural fit for the everyday operational demands of a boutique law office.
